I've not told you much about myself by design. I want to be as anonymous as possible so that I can write just as plainly as I can without fear of reprisal or rejection or undue criticism. Yet, tonight I want you to know that I have been married to my wife for 25 years -- and we celebrated our anniversary this evening.
My bride...she is a selfless, caring, lovely woman who is intelligent, wise, and talented. In every way, she completes me. I am sure that God blessed me with untold mercy by bringing her into my life. I love her and am committed to her. Ours was a covenant marriage when we stood at that altar back in 1984 and said our vows one to another. I look forward every day to being with her, talking with her, and just hanging with her.
We discussed the unforced rhythms of grace this evening. How we both want to be that gentle breeze instead of the violent storm, and how we were going to enjoy God and life and family...for the rest of our lives.
In a day when couples divorce for any reason, I am pleased to tell you that my wife and I are dedicated to one another; we see our love relationship as an opportunity to serve God.
I love my wife...I just wanted you to know it tonight.
