Living Below Means

I don't like to budget. I just like to spend money. Problem is, I always have more month at the end of my money. Oh, but I have credit cards!

Not a good way to live. Debt robs of joy and peace.

Seems to me that the secret to contentment is to watch my money such that I live below my means. This allows me to save money. Then when things get tough on a given month, I have extra money.

Here's the deal: if I spend all that I make, and get used to that standard of living, then I'm a prisoner of my job. If God calls me to go, I will hesitate because I "need" my income...my standard of living. Who wants to live in that self-imposed prison? And who wants to tell God, "no?"

No thanks. I'm all yours, Lord. So is this money.
