In the movie, Fireproof, Caleb is reminded in the book, Love Dare, to lead with his mind and not his heart; that is, he has to tell his heart where to go. Too often, our emotions lead us first here, then there, with little thought to where we really need to end up. In this movie, it's all about understanding the nature of marriage and commitment; in the end, Caleb finally gets it: his emotions were going to leave him emotionally bankrupt, but he turned the tide and decided on a different course.
And so it is with us! Emotionally, I don't want to change and get healthy and thin again. I've tried it too often, only to fail. But I will lead my heart with my mind as I move forward toward the goal of freedom.
Today, lead your emotions with your mind. Have an end goal in mind and do something positive toward reaching it.
And God willing, I'll meet you at the destination called Satisfaction.
